ABOUT

Soph Donovan is an artist from Lancashire now based in Yorkshire.

Donovan's experimental practice investigates the shared formative experience of growing up, utilising elements from memories of childhood innocence, teenage crudeness and new-found adult nostalgia. Her work explores themes of living, dwelling, and finding a place to belong - with extreme emphasis on the northern English identity and the connotations it holds within a modern Britain. Donovan's light-hearted observations of everyday life address class issues, the north-south divide, current affairs and 21st century culture through the somewhat
naïve and ever silly lens of the artist.
